Welcome to Fourth Grade Science!
This is the site for Ms. Hirstius's fourth grade class. I hope this will be an informative site for parents and students.
This week is focused on science. We will have fun with projects having to do with the moon, the sun, and the earth. Click on the tabs above to view the different things we will be using in the classroom. The lesson plan is the basis of the lesson, the powerpoint helps introduce the lesson, the blog helps the classroom connect and complete assignments, and the WebQuest is an activity that helps the fourth grade further understand what is happening in class. Under the tabs there may be links to documents, powerpoints, or resources that you can view by doubleclicking the link.

Ms. Hirstius's BiographyMy name in the classroom setting is Ms. Hirstius. I graduated from high school with my AA degree in 2012. I try to do my best with a lot of my work. I intend to teach others for a while.
I want to teach to help others learn. I want to help children to succeed in their academics to better their lives outside of school. As a teacher, I am motivated to teach by the simple struggles that I could see as a barrier to everyday functioning. A moment that made me want to be a teacher was a meeting a student during an observation. Technology is an important part of that. Technology is used in everyday life, whether for fun or job purposes. Those that use technology are responsible for the technology use. In the classroom, students need to learn to become responsible for their use of digital resource and copyrights so that they are not accused of stealing another person’s material. It is important to be safe using the internet and to be polite to others. Respect and “Netiquette” are very important in every aspect of using technology. |
